Sunday anxiety

Sunday night anxiety: how to soften the dread before Monday

The Sunday-night feeling often mixes unfinished rest, anticipated demands and the sense that time is running out. You do not need to solve the whole week tonight.

TalkToMe is self-guided educational support. It is not therapy, diagnosis or emergency care. If you may be in immediate danger in the UK, call 999 or go to A&E.

Name Monday’s first real demand

Replace a vague fear of the week with the first specific moment you expect to be difficult. A concrete concern is easier to prepare for than the feeling that everything is coming at once.

Close one open loop

Choose one small preparation—clothes, breakfast, a short list or the first email draft—and stop there. Preparation should create space, not consume the remaining evening.

Protect part of Sunday

Give the final hour a purpose unrelated to performance. A familiar programme, shower, book or phone call can mark the difference between preparing for Monday and surrendering the whole evening to it.

Do not leave this as something you only read. Talk it through and receive one step shaped around today.
